Winter is Here
Winter is here, the snow is falling and our cozy Ski Area is now open. It’s always a thrill when we get to open up the slopes for another season of awesome family fun. To help celebrate, I took a look back and gathered the best Ski Area photos from last season. Have a look and enjoy the snow this year!
1. Big Dumps of Snow
Although our Ski Area is supported mainly by man-made snow, we love to get dumps of fresh natural snow throughout the year. This picture, taken at the base of Snow Gun and Moonshine, shows one of those special days.
2. Starlight Challenge
Every Friday in February is an entertaining and activity-filled evening at the Ski Hill. Our Starlight Challenge serves up for-fun-only amateur ski races and the mountain is open for Night Skiing until 9:00pm. Here are a couple action shots of contestants ‘racing’ their way to Starlight glory.
3. Torchlight Parade
The famous Torchlight Parade is into its 31st year. It’s amazing to see over 30 torch-waving skiers carve their way down the mountain. This Christmas Eve event includes awesome fireworks and a visit from Santa.
4. Monty the Moose
Our friendly mascot Monty loves to hang out at the Ski Chalet. Look for him this year during big events. Don’t be surprised if you see him grab a tube and head into the park!
5. Tube Park
Our fast-paced and exhilarating Tube Park is a blast for all ages. With the only Tube Park in the Columbia Valley, we love offering “the most exciting ten seconds in the valley.” Here’s a picture of a group enjoying a slide last year.
