Having put in more than 50 rounds of golf this year, I knew I wanted to celebrate a fantastic season with something special. The answer was easy and it was right in front of my face. Adjacent to our beautiful Riverside is the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Airport; why not fly in for my tee time?

Flight Plan: Golf

With one of the longest seasons in the Columbia Valley, it feels like our March 25th opening day at Riverside Golf Course was ages ago! With the course open until October 30 and still in amazing condition, it’s great to know there’s still time to hit the links for at least one more round.

With the help of Captain Gord, a local tow-plane pilot, I did just that. The flight from Invermere to Fairmont Hot Springs is really only about 5 minutes, but we extended it for some spectacular fly-overs, followed by another great round at Riverside Golf Course. Here’s a look at some of the stunning sights from one of my final rounds of the year.

Of course, flying in to golf is not necessary, but it sure was fun. You don’t have to go as far and high as I did, but you can always find a way to celebrate another great season of golf at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.
