Our friendly and experienced instructors create a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment where confidence can grow at every age. Please be advised: Due to a later-than-usual season start and weather challenges earlier this winter, we are currently experiencing a shortage of ski instructors.

As a result:

• Ski lessons are being offered on select weekends only
• Snowboarding lessons are not available at this time
• Ski school will be closed for Family Day Week (February 8-20), updates will be posted if this changes.

SKI & SNOWBOARD ABILITY LEVELS

TOT LESSONS (Ages 3 - 5)

Our Tot Lessons are a fun and gentle way to introduce your little one to the snow. These lessons focus on smiles, confidence, and learning through play. With a one-hour, one-on-one lesson, instructors can move at your child’s pace while focusing on the FUNdamentals in a safe and encouraging environment.

Perfect for first-timers and tiny adventurers alike, Tot Lessons help build confidence, coordination, and a love for the mountain—one snowy step at a time.

$60 per lesson

Good to Know:
Lift tickets for children aged 5 and under are complimentary.  Rentals and lift tickets are not included in the lesson price. A valid lift ticket and helmet are required for ALL lessons. Prices do not include applicable taxes.

GROUP LESSONS (Ages 6+)

Join one of our professional, qualified instructors for 1.5 hours of fun-filled learning on the snow. Group lessons are kept small (no more than 8 participants) and are made up of adults and children of similar ability levels to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

If you’re unsure of your ability level, please refer to the Ability Chart above.

$60 per person, per lesson

Arrival Requirements:
Guests must arrive at the hill at least one hour prior to their scheduled lesson start time. If equipment rentals are required, please arrive 1.5 hours prior to the lesson start time.

Private Lessons (Ages 6+)

Looking for a more personalized experience? Our Private Lessons offer exclusive, one-on-one instruction tailored specifically to your goals and ability level. You are guaranteed a dedicated instructor for the duration of your lesson, ensuring focused guidance and maximum progression.

Have an instructor you loved? Private lessons also allow you to request a specific instructor, subject to availability.

Private lessons are available for guests aged 6 and up:

• $90 for the first person
• $50 for each additional person joining the lesson

Extended Private Lessons
Want more time on the snow? We also offer Half-Day and Full-Day private lesson options:

Half-Day Private Lesson (3 hours) - Available times: 9:30am – 12:30pm or 1:00pm – 4:00pm

• $190 for the first person
• $60 for each additional person joining the lesson

Full-Day Private Lesson (6 hours) - Available times: 9:30am – 12:30pm, including a 30-minute unsupervised lunch break

• $380 for the first person
• $60 for each additional person joining the lesson

Half-day and full-day private lessons must be booked a minimum of 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability. Prices do not include applicable taxes.

Onsite storage is limited. Please store extra bags in your vehicle if possible. 

Wherever you choose to take a break you can always enjoy the fresh mountain air, great views and the casual vibe. The Desperados & Sundance Café will open with the Ski Area. Lots of options available for big and little appetites.

Helmet Policy

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort recommends wearing helmets for skiing and riding. Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to educate themselves on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage. The primary safety consideration, and obligation under the Alpine Responsibility Code, is to ski and ride in a controlled and responsible manner.

Team Fairmont Racers are groups of kids who love skiing and want to take their skills to the next level. You’ll get to train with experienced coaches who will help you improve your technique, speed, and agility on the mountain!

Our race programs provide a great opportunity to make new friends who share the same passion!

Snow Stars: U12, U10, U8, U6

'Team Fairmont Racers' is for the FUNdamental stage of ski racing. The philosophy is to promote fun, safety, skill development, and fair play. Children are introduced to skiing techniques and skills in small groups and in as many different snow conditions as possible.

Most importantly, this program promotes having fun on skis. The children participate within their club in team and individual competitions in diverse events which encourage new friendships in a fun and friendly environment while demonstrating the skills developed in the Snow Stars program. Snow Stars (an Alpine Canada nationwide program) encourages the development of skiers and ski racers of all skill levels by discovering the joy of skiing, skill competence, competition, and excellence in a fun and rewarding environment.

This program includes all day Saturday training and half-day Sunday as an extra option.

Fairmonsters: U14

A great opportunity for your older child to continue to build on the technique and skills developed in Snow Stars, this program expands on the focus on racing to include Slalom and GS.  Through a more intensive concentration on racing technique, children grow in all aspects of their ski ability and confidence.

This is a full weekend program (Saturday and Sunday) for kids aged 12-17, with 23 days on snow.

• Extended days must be consecutive to receive the discount rate. Discounted rates also available for more than three days.
• Please give yourself ONE HOUR set up time if you are in lessons. There is an additional charge for every ski or board switch. Based on availability and time, $10 per switch.
• Insurance is included in all rentals for Fairmont Hot Springs guests. This is to fix wear and tear on normal everyday damage. This does not include missing damaged or broken equipment from improper use.
• Additional discounts are available for longer rental periods — weekly, monthly, and seasonal.
• Please enquire at the rental shop. Equipment can be taken to other resorts and returned by 10:00 am the following morning (late fees apply).
