Helmet Policy

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort recommends wearing helmets for skiing and riding. Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to educate themselves on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage. The primary safety consideration, and obligation under the Alpine Responsibility Code, is to ski and ride in a controlled and responsible manner.

Team Fairmont Racers are groups of kids who love skiing and want to take their skills to the next level. You’ll get to train with experienced coaches who will help you improve your technique, speed, and agility on the mountain!

Our race programs provide a great opportunity to make new friends who share the same passion!

Snow Stars: U12, U10, U8, U6

'Team Fairmont Racers' is for the FUNdamental stage of ski racing. The philosophy is to promote fun, safety, skill development, and fair play. Children are introduced to skiing techniques and skills in small groups and in as many different snow conditions as possible.

Most importantly, this program promotes having fun on skis. The children participate within their club in team and individual competitions in diverse events which encourage new friendships in a fun and friendly environment while demonstrating the skills developed in the Snow Stars program. Snow Stars (an Alpine Canada nationwide program) encourages the development of skiers and ski racers of all skill levels by discovering the joy of skiing, skill competence, competition, and excellence in a fun and rewarding environment.

This program includes all day Saturday training and half-day Sunday as an extra option.

Fairmonsters: U14

A great opportunity for your older child to continue to build on the technique and skills developed in Snow Stars, this program expands on the focus on racing to include Slalom and GS.  Through a more intensive concentration on racing technique, children grow in all aspects of their ski ability and confidence.

This is a full weekend program (Saturday and Sunday) for kids aged 12-17, with 23 days on snow.

• Extended days must be consecutive to receive the discount rate. Discounted rates also available for more than three days.
• Please give yourself ONE HOUR set up time if you are in lessons. There is an additional charge for every ski or board switch. Based on availability and time, $10 per switch.
• Insurance is included in all rentals for Fairmont Hot Springs guests. This is to fix wear and tear on normal everyday damage. This does not include missing damaged or broken equipment from improper use.
• Additional discounts are available for longer rental periods — weekly, monthly, and seasonal.
• Please enquire at the rental shop. Equipment can be taken to other resorts and returned by 10:00 am the following morning (late fees apply).
