Fairmont Hot Springs Resort makes charitable contribution to the Invermere Companion Animal Network

Local donation covers two animal surgeries just in time for the holidays.

CALGARY – December 5, 2019 – Fairmont Hot Springs Resort presented The Invermere Companion Animal Network (ICAN) with a charitable donation on Saturday, November 30 that will cover two animal surgeries for the local non-profit. The Resort set aside five dollars from every pet friendly Paw’fect Package sold in October and November to raise money for ICAN this fall. The contribution was made during the Resort’s Holiday Lights and Winter Nights Festival, where ICAN hosted pet photos with Santa for additional donations from the community.

“It was a great pleasure to present a cheque to this local organization and the team of volunteers who make a huge difference in our community,” said Vivek Sharma, President and CEO, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. “As a pet friendly destination, we are committed to bettering the lives of animals in the Columbia Valley by supporting their health and adoption.”

The Paw’fect Package was a new seasonal offering that gave animal-loving guests a unique opportunity to stay at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort with their pets and raise money for animals in need. The package included two nights’ accommodation in a pet-friendly room with two queen beds, a stylish bandana for a jet-setting pooch, a package of natural dog treats and a five-dollar donation to ICAN.

“We are thrilled to receive this donation from Fairmont Hot Springs Resort and to have participated in their Holiday Lights and Winter Lights Festival,” shared Carol Hemmelgarn, volunteer, ICAN. “Thanks to the Paw’fect Package, the Resort’s generosity will cover two animal surgeries this holiday season.”

Located in Invermere, BC, ICAN is a registered non-profit, no-kill, no-cage animal rescue and adoption facility that services the Columbia Valley. ICAN accepts homeless cats and kittens, guardian surrendered dogs and small animals. The organization attends to their veterinary needs, including spay and neuter, and any special care required before placing them in loving forever homes.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort expects to bring the Paw’fect Package back in the fall of 2020 to continue raising funds for local animals in need.
