What It Is

Responsible for all aspects of the kitchen management for the lodge resort.

Things You’ll Do

The main roll for the outlet chef is to supervise and performance manage all heart of house staff members, including stewarding, receiving and cooks. To assist in the creation and training packages and to ensure all on-going training needs are met. Development, working main lodge catering functions and as assisting the resort executive chef with other duties as needed.

  • Assist with menu design
  • Implement all menus and training
  • Adhering to all customers expectations
  • Oversee all receiving procedures
  • Ordering and quality control of food and beverage supplies
  • Completion of all food inventories, and necessary variance checks
  • Preparation of weekly schedules, and payroll reporting
  • Coordinate and assist in the creation of yearly budgets
  • To be responsible for the control of all food and labour costs pertaining to heart of house operations
  • To work to limit staff turnover, by offering exceptional training, and offering an enabling environment
  • Other duties that may arise

Who You Are

We want you to have:

  • Your Red Seal certification
  • 5 years’ experience in the culinary field in kitchen management in a high volume restaurant
  • Food Safe Level 1
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities
  • Responsibility and reliability
  • The ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to remain calm and courteous at all times and finally, focus on guest needs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

For Your Information

You’ll likely be:

  • Hourly Rate: $22.00
  • Working extended hours, often including weekends and holidays
  • Lifting at least 50lbs
  • Standing for long periods of time while preparing food

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll have Cooks, Dishwashers, Prep Cooks reporting to you; you’ll report to the Executive Chef.
