Choose from 1 hour or 1.5 hour trail rides through beautiful forested trails with spectacular views.

Located on resort property, our trail rides offer an exciting adventure for adults and kids 6yrs and older. Climb up and down hills, across cool water streams, and enjoy stunning views of the valley. No experience needed.

Trail rides run 7 days a week:

  • 9:00 am- 1 hr and 2 hr
  • 11:00am- 1.5 hr
  • 1:30pm- 1.5 hr
  • 4:00- 1 hr

Brief Description:

The successful candidate will possess a valid drivers license, and valid, BC Security License, a strong independent work ethic. This position works evenings and midnights, and is responsible for security around the resort. Wage dependent on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the property is secure after hours, reporting on any areas found to be insecure
• Patrol common areas to report on, and discourage inappropriate activities of either guests or staff
• Respond to requests for aid by guests or staff, and contacting appropriate responders where deemed appropriate
• Represent the interests of the resort during off-hours

Qualifications:

Qualifications include:
• Security designation as required by BC Law
• First Aid mandatory, Level 3 First Aid preferred
• Computer literate
• Able to communicate effectively with the public
• High school diploma
• Security clearance

Working Conditions

This position is only on at night (midnight shift) and so shift work is mandatory.  There is physical exertion involved in the position, requiring that the employee be physically fit.

Physical Requirements

As the security person is always ‘on call’, breaks when possible

Brief Description:

The Assistant Manager of Housekeeping for Fairmont Hot Springs Resort provides  direction and guidance in the day to day operations in Housekeeping and Laundry; and advises on the overall operation of the Lodge including guest rooms, public areas, hotel cleanliness and  guest concerns and requests.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day to day operations of all housekeeping services including the cleaning of lodge rooms and public areas and the operation of the laundry by effective planning, organization and supervision.
• Manage and control the inventory of guest supplies, linens, chemicals, cleaning supplies, equipment, uniforms and all other required items.
• Scheduling all staff based on room occupancy and ensuring all assignments are completed in a timely manner.
• Conduct morning pre-shift briefings to inform staff of all resort events.
• Prepare the daily work assignments for Room Attendants based on room occupancy and arrivals report.
• Ensure payroll hours are entered and daily labor costs are reported.
• Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Communicate with Front Desk and Maintenance to monitor guest concerns, arrivals and departures, VIP guests and room maintenance and follow up on issues and conflicts.
• Assist with the preparation of the  annual operating budget for Housekeeping and Laundry based on room occupancy and monitor monthly costs and overages.
• Participate in strategic, financial and guest satisfaction planning and implementation.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual Capital Budget and Business Plan.
• Guide employee performance by holding staff accountable and meeting realistic and obtainable goals.
• Assist with the recruitment and hiring of long term and seasonal staff.
• Participate in the training of all staff including daily cleaning procedures, hotel policies and procedures, fire and emergency procedures and health and safety procedures.
• Encourage positive staff moral and provide leadership and consultation to all staff by communicating employee policies, productivity expectations and evaluating overall individual performances.
• Monitor guest concerns and resolve problems.
• Maintain close and effective working relationships with all departments.
• Overall responsibility for the department when the Housekeeping Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in hospitality/hotel field.
• Supervisory experience, preferable in the hotel environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills as well as supervisory skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, motivate and manage a large multicultural and diverse department
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Conflict resolution skills and problem solving ability
• Financial/budgeting experience or education
• Front Desk experience or education
• Knowledge of Word and Excel at an advanced level
• Knowledge of and ability to navigate Maestro.

Working Conditions

The nature of the position will require working outside the normal working week.  This will include working weekends and statutory holidays and some evenings.  Reporting deadlines and daily requirements may require additional time spent on a day to day basis.  Travel outside the property on business may be periodically required as well.

Physical Requirements

The position requires daily walks throughout the property, standing for extended periods of time, and related bending motions several times a day.
