Chris Tatsuno, the grand prize winner of the Ultimate Ski Bum Blow Your Mind competition hit the slopes and enjoyed a fresh snowfall at Fairmont Hot Springs Family Ski Area on March 13.
The Ultimate Ski Bum Blow Your Mind competition showcasing BC’s famed Powder Highway, was a huge international success and went viral around the world. Chris was the lucky winner and visited Fairmont Hot Springs on his criss-cross tour across the BC Kootenays, home of superb skiing.

Chris Tatsuno, the grand prize winner of the Ultimate Ski Bum Blow Your Mind competition will be visiting Fairmont Hot Springs Resort and the Family Ski Area March 2010.
The Ultimate Ski Bum Blow Your Mind competition showcasing BC’s famed Powder Highway, was a huge international success and went viral. Desperate ski bums across the globe submitted homemade videos of why they should earn the title of the Ultimate Ski Bum – including entries from Australia, Russia and Argentina.
Chris, whose middle name is the Japanese word for 'snow' is a genuine powderhound and hails from Snowmass Village, CO and was until recently the MC at the latest Warren Miller ski film events in the Western US. As part of this once in a lifetime prize, Chris has received an Ultimate Ski Bum vehicle to use during his travels around BC.
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort looks forward to hosting Chris, officially the world’s Ultimate Ski Bum.

Local Youths Head to the BC Amateur Golf Championship - July 2009
Lee Klas of Fairmont Hot Springs is going to Duncan, BC to play in the 2009 BC Amateur Championship and represent his home club, Riverside Golf Course. Klas, still a classified as a junior golfer, teed it up at the amateur zone qualifying rounds in Cranbrook and St. Eugene Mission the weekend before his high school graduation. After the first day, Klas was in the hunt and after the second day, he sealed the deal by firing the low round of 71 for the day.
Cam Richardson of the Golf Courses at Fairmont Hot Springs is off to play in the BC Amateur in Duncan. Richardson secured the second alternate position at the zone qualifiers in Cranbrook and St. Eugene Mission two weeks ago. This week he learned that he will now join Lee Klas to represent this Zone at the Amateur event beginning July 13th.
