Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is proud to once again sponsor and host the Columbia Valley Salmon Festival, a community arts and cultural festival celebrating the life journey of the wild Kokanee salmon and the Columbia River. Held in the beautiful BC Rockies resort town of Fairmont Hot Springs and the surrounding area, the Festival takes place this coming weekend of September 28-30
It’s the Fall, which means that wildlife are abundant in our area getting ready for the cold months by filling their bellies as much as possible before hibernation or heading down South. One of the biggest attractions of the Canadian Rockies is the wildlife, especially large mammals such as elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and bears, which are widespread and easily viewed in our area. All these animals are wild, so precautions need to be taken to not disrupt their environment and to not interfere with their activity.
Wine is a wonderful thing, but when you learn from Erin Dowsett, Supervisor at Mountain Flowers it tastes even better! Erin guided us through some of the best wines from Summerhill Pyramid Winery in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The pyramid is especially unique as it is second only to the Great Pyramid of Egypt for alignment and precision and is used in the art of winemaking. The twenty year experiment at Summerhill Pyramid Winery has been proving the effect of sacred geometry with its track record of delicious wines and international gold medals.
The forceful torrent of mud, rock, and debris that came roaring down the Fairmont Creek on July 15th didn’t only bring muck into many areas of the town it brought new opportunity for Mountainside Golf Course. Last week, renowned golf course architect, Doug Carrick was on site to examine how to make the best use of mother’s natures materials to improve and redesign the affected holes.
We are literally bubbling with excitement as we look forward to our re-opening date of Friday, August 3rd. The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort natural mineral pools, lodge, RV Park and all associated outlets will re-open next Friday - in time for the sunny long weekend.
