At 3:00pm on Tuesday the 19th one of the most intense storms in recent years pounded the area. Rain came down in torrents and marble-sized hail shattered the usual peace of the mountains. Streams flooded, lakes formed, and the hot springs complex closed early for the first time since 1998.
As exciting as it was, everything has returned to normal now. Thanks to the guys and girls in Juniper Ridge Lodge (117, 118, 119 and 120 in particular) who kept smiling throughout and even helped our crews clear storm water. We also appreciate the good humour of guests who missed their planned dip in the hot springs on Tuesday night!
Take a look at the latest Environment Canada forecast, summer officially resumes this Saturday!
