The Kootenay - family adventure
Guided by Kootenay River Runners, the Kootenay offers up the best family whitewater rafting in the BC Rockies and includes a morning snack and our traditional riverside rafting lunch. Great for kids as young as five. Grandparents are welcome. Raft Class 2 and 3 rapids on this superior family adventure. Carrying a distinctive wilderness feel, our one day rafting trip is a delightful 30 mile frolic down the more spirited stretches of the Kootenay. Featuring boisterous whitewater, exquisite Rockies scenery, and the chance of seeing wildlife. Tours depart from Kootenay River Runners’ Radium Hot Springs office at 9:00am and return by 5:00pm.
Radium Hot Springs is just 25 minutes north of Fairmont Hot Springs.

Toby Creek – Beginners and Family Fun
Toby Creek is born from high alpine glaciers capping the Purcell's. It carves a turquoise ribbon through mountain wilderness and steep canyons as it rushes downstream to join the Columbia River.
This classic whitewater rafting adventure, run by Kootenay River Runners, offers thrills and excitement through the twists and turns of the class I-III rafting section. This is a great trip for the first time whitewater rafter or the seasoned professional. Trip length approximately 2 hours.
Toby Creek trips are based at Panorama Mountain Resort, just 30 minutes west of Invermere, B.C. If you are coming for a whitewater rafting trip from the direction of Fairmont Hot Springs, enjoy the stunning drive about 35 minutes door to door!

Kicking Horse – the Ultimate Whitewater adventure
This rafting trip, offered by Kootenay River Runners, covering a distance of 20 km, starts at our Kicking Horse River Basecamp located just west of Yoho National Park Boundary, 24 km east of Golden. The Basecamp is easily accessible from Fairmont Hot Springs.
In the upper and middle canyons, the rafting starts out slowly, then picks up until you're getting drenched in continuous class III to IV rapids .You won't forget rafting Portage, Shotgun, Last Waltz and all the other amazing rafting along the way. It's a great trip for the first time rafter or the seasoned veteran.
For even more whitewater, you can book the Ultimate trip. The Ultimate adds on the Lower Canyon section and an additional class IV section of extraordinary whitewater.
